Mrs John McNally a Terra Cotta native died at her daughter Mrs Alex Lewis Georgetown after a stroke. She was 80 and had lived all her life in Terra Cotta. Surviving sisters three daughters and one son include Mrs Harry Farts Mrs George Ferry Mrs Alex Lewis and Charles McNally. Funeral held at son Charles McNallys home Terra Cotta conducted by Rev J Self. Interment Glen Williams Cemetery.

Band President G W McIntock led a night of varied acts including The Scott Trio Earl Scott Lloyd and Chester Swindlhurst on violin guitar and banjo. acrobats James and Clare Burns and George Barber. step-dancing by Cli Jordan. comic turns by Willson and Dewhurst. vocal duets by Cpl Mary Moyer and Piper Marion Hepburn. Eleanor Smith’s tap dancing. a pipes quartet led by Sgt Cummins. and a grand finale featuring Bonnie Dundee and other Scottish numbers. The audience applauded the performances and requests for another concert already arrived.

Word reached Mr and Mrs Adam Kay that their son Pte William J Kay died of wounds received in action on February 20. He had recently earned special mention for bravery after a small Essex Scottish Regiment group raided a canal in Belgium and captured 70 German prisoners.

Corporal Hedley Shaw Missing in Action in Holland
News reached Mrs. Hedley Shaw last Tuesday February 20 that her husband Corporal Hedley Shaw is missing in action in Holland since the end of December. He joined the Active Army in 1943 after serving in the Lorne Scots Reserve and trained at Brantford and Camp Borden before going overseas. Mrs. Shaw operates his feed grain and seed business at home on Main Street North while their children Sandra Sydney and Beverly stay with her.

Navy League Branch Elects Officers At George Town Meeting
The George Town Navy League branch reassembled via Municipal 82 meeting and re elected Ev MacCormack as chairman for 1945. Officers and committees include W F Bradley as honorary chairman Brill as vice chair and Mrs A A Schrag as secretary with a strong slate of local volunteers and a field representative from Toronto presiding. The group reported fundraising of over 1100 last year and contributions of 126 ditty bags 24 cartons of books and magazines 76 knitted items 7 quilts and 3 cartons of survivors bundles.

Moderator to visit Georgetown district on March 4
The Rev. A. C. Stewart of Midland Ontario will visit Knox Church Georgetown at 11 am and Limehouse Church at 2 30 pm on Sunday March 4. It will be the first visit of a Moderator to these congregations with special music and the ordination of Knox elders planned. Stewart previously served Knox Acton and Chalmers Toronto before taking his Midland post. An invitation is extended to local friends to attend this historic event.

Mrs W G Bell's Mother Dies in Lindsay Funeral Held
Sympathy of the community is expressed to Mr W G Bell whose mother died in Toronto General Hospital on Tuesday February 20th. Mrs James Bell was in her 85th year. She was buried in the family plot at Lindsey the following Thursday. The late Mrs Bell was the last surviving member of the Nicolle family of Lindsay. Side and her husband had lived in Toronto for a great number of years. Mr Bell predeceased her ten years ago. Surviving are three sons Charles of Lindsay Pred near Maddock and William of Georgetown.
