Esquesing council moves to curb arrears on trailer license fees, setting a $15 bounty for dead taxes and urging provincial action. The meeting also covers municipal budgets, maintenance levies, and board appointments as the township faces higher costs and payer scrutiny.
Georgetown will appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board against Judge George Ellion's decision reducing assessment on land in the Delrex and Moore Park subdivisions. Moore Park had been assessed at $5.00 per foot, Delrex land at $4.00, with prior reductions by the revision court. The town argues the present assessment should not stand and seeks a stay while appeal proceeds.

Education Minister William Davis presided at the opening of a new high school wing funded by federal provincial plans.
