Mrs. Tulloch Dies in 87th Year at Daughter's Home
Isabella Wards Tulloch widow of Peter Tulloch died January 31 at her daughter Mrs. E R Robinson's home in Georgetown after illness since Christmas. Born in Orkney Islands she and Peter moved to Canada fifty five years ago, living in Fergus before Georgetown. Funeral services conducted by Rev. C C Cochrane and Rev. J L Bell with graveside ritual at Greenwood Cemetery. Survived by daughter Mrs. E B Robinson. several out of town mourners attended from Fergus and Toronto. Local Briton waste salvage report notes 4 5 million tons recovered for reuse after household discard.

Gnr Lloyd McEnery of the 24th Field Regiment returns home on leave to Erin with his parents. He recalls a small rocky island with foggy damp weather, Japanese forces withdrawn, scarce food, and self supplied entertainment as Canadians built camps and roads on Kiska. He will return to Vernon after three weeks' leave and enlisted in the artillery last November.

The Women’s Institute met at Mrs Harold Cleave’s residence on February 2 for a social evening. Eight euchre tables, prizes donated by convenors Mrs Joseph Hall Mrs Art Scott and Mrs Fred McNally. First prize went to Mrs Norman Snyder. several runners up and consolation prize awarded. Light refreshments followed and the group ended with God Save the King.
