Georgetown volunteers move ambulance project forward
The Georgetown council accepted the offer to form a volunteer ambulance service. A committee led by Fred Harrison and Garfield McGilvray will supervise operations and training, with plans to operate like a St John model though not yet affiliated. Three Georgetown Women Injured In No 7 Car Crash
Three Georgetown women were badly hurt Monday when their car collided with a Toronto bound truck on a slippery stretch of No 7 near Beckford's Motel. Driver Leslie Norris aged 23 suffered a broken pelvis and severe cuts. Norma Ingham aged 91 broke a leg and sustained head injuries. Mrs John Easdale aged 50 had broken ribs and eye injuries. A fourth passenger, Mrs Brian Williams, escaped with shock and returned home. The truck driver John Sanford of Toronto had minor facial cuts and bruises. The four women worked as bank clerks in Malton and were en route home from work.
