Motor crash kills C. E. Ruddy ex Georgetown resident
C. E. Ruddy died in a North Bay hospital from injuries after a head on collision near North Bay. He rode with George Price in one car while O F Shaw drove the other with Dennis Moore as a passenger. Four men were injured and lay in wrecks for over an hour before help arrived. Ruddy, 43, formerly of Georgetown, served in the 64th Battalion in WWI and operated a tourist camp at Lowell Lake. Funeral held February 4 at Mrs. Harold Cleave’s home with Rev. F. O. Overend presiding. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. survived by wife Amy C. McDonald and three children.

Fire Chief Latimer reported 1940 brigade activity and sought a new fire truck, while tire concerns led to buying two used tires. Mrs. Martha Kennedy Erwin died at her home in Sarnia on Tuesday January 28 after several months illness. Born to the late Maurice and Martha Kennedy she was a former Methodist soloist and had lived in Sarnia for over forty years.
