Martin Road Honours April Centenarian in Georgetown
Georgetown's oldest resident Joe Martin will be honoured with a new street name. Martin Road chosen for a street to be opened in Delrex industrial area, honoring Martin on his 100th birthday April 1. He is father of Mrs. George Glassford and Mrs. John T. Armstrong and is currently a Georgetown hospital patient after a broken hip operation.

Three More Buyers Acquire Land in Industrial Area
The council on Monday disposed of 8 percent more acres of the industrial park bought last fall from Delrex Developments. Land at $100 per acre now sells for $1,000. Deals approved include 2 percent acres to Andrew Murray Motors, five acres to H Boehmer & Co., and almost an acre to O and P Coast, which also received an option on a neighboring parcel. Dr Exn Hyde noted a letter from William Schenk Jr. referenced the same land tied to Schenk’s knitting factory. The O and P offer was chosen for its prospect of building this year.

Weather Causes Rash of Accidents Last Week
Georgetown police logged six motor vehicle crashes last week led by a two car collision at Guelph and Durham Streets.
