Credit Sprinkler System Saves Local Hotel Fire
The McGibbon Hotel narrowly escaped major damage after a garbage receptacle fire on the second floor triggered the sprinkler system around 5 pm. Fire Chief Erwin Lewis credited the system for holding the flames in check until firefighters could enter and extinguish the blaze. He suspects a cigarette butt started the fire. the sprinkler was installed last fall.

Plans Plastics Business In Main Street Building
Howard Tarzwell has leased the United Gas Building on Main Street North near the railway bridge and plans a plastics business there while a larger plant is built on the 10th Line of Esquesing opposite Georgetown Golf and Country Club.
