The Skating Follies presented by Georgetown drew a full house with 1000 reserved seats sold and rush seats filled. Highlights included Elizabeth Lelcu and Derwyn Potts from the Hamilton Skating Club and standout performers from the University of Toronto and Granite Club, plus the Lorne Scots Band and a comedy skit. Towns oldest resident George Charters dies
George M Charters died at his home on Academy Road on Monday January 26 after a year of poor health and a mid January fall. He was 92, born in Norfolk County near Hartford, son of David and Janet Charters Scottish settlers. He farmed until 30 years ago, moved to Georgetown, served in the Norfolk Regiment as a captain, married Mary Elizabeth Glenn in 1889, survived by her, last of a family of eight. Funeral by Hey C R Gower from his home followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown. pallbearers listed.

Couple Injured In Level Crossing Auto Wreck
A Guelph couple, Mr. Hosker and his wife, were injured when their car collided with a train at a level crossing. The car skidded on an icy road, was dragged about 100 feet, and sustained heavy damage. They were hospitalized at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Guelph with head and chest injuries. Mr. Hosker said he saw the train approaching and attempted to brake. He is brother-in-law to Mrs. Percy Olney of Georgetown.
