The Brampton Rotary Club presented stretchers to the boards of Parks management and to local schools to bolster first aid supplies. Receivers included high school principal J. L. Lambert and guest Bob Lane at a Fairview Inn dinner. Other guests were Russell Gill and Jim Archdekin. Dr. J. H. Chamberlain led the program with a Citizens' Forum recording. The club plans an Easter Seal campaign launch at the Feb 28 dinner marking its first anniversary.

Firemen's Auxiliary Euchre Party
The Women’s Auxiliary of the Firemen held a euchre game in the club rooms with several tables in play. Prizes went to Mrs C Stacey first, Mrs A Zilio second, and Mrs Pete Hunter third. Mrs Joseph Gibbons won the most lone hands and Mrs Albert Henney the consolation prize. Mr J C Montgomery and family attended the golden wedding of his aunt and uncle Mr and Mrs James Gilpin of Shelburne, married in Alliston in 1906, with many friends and gifts exchanged.

No Serious Injuries Trains Crash at Acton
In a Monday morning collision at Acton station two CNR passenger trains collided amid a blinding snowstorm. A Toronto bound train struck a stationary London bound train, tearing front engine sections but derailed none of the coaches. Several passengers were injured, none seriously, and recovery of the two trains required hours of track clearing and sidings to restore service. Traffic on No 7 Highway rerouted for nearly two hours while Stratford bound rear coaches were towed away.

Georgetown council met to authorize Bankers Bond Corporation to privately market a 650000 debenture issue to fund municipal improvements including water works extension hydro program sewers sidewalks and a school addition. Bankers Bond aims for a 40 percent issue at not less than 100.50 with 20 year terms and a February 29 deadline.

Snowed In Ten Years Ago On A 25 Below Day
Mrs Ward Ruddell recalled notes from ten years ago on January 26 1946 when 25 below zero kept the family home. Newton and Fred Ruddell worked to open the road from their farm to Base Line so they could fetch milk and mail, while the Ruddells delivered milk by horse and sled to Stewarttown during a snowbound period.
