Milton Farmhouse Fire Forces Swift Action
Fire at Albert Peddie’s Milton area home caused heavy flames but was stopped when he removed a blazing Chesterfield and bed. The blaze threatened the farm residence three miles north of Milton with neighborly aid preventing disaster. Mrs. R. J. Hare, longtime Milton resident, died December 23 in her nineties. Surviving: husband, two daughters Mrs. S. W. Hann of Toronto and Mrs. Frank Crawford of Milton, and one son Rev. Ross R. Hare of Spring. A Christmas Day Grace Church of England service was broadcast on CBC.
