Santa Delivers Treats to 860 Kiddies in Georgetown
Santa visited the Georgetown district with 860 children for a holiday celebration at the Dank of Montreal corner. Lions Club distributed candy and oranges to all youngsters as the Greats Band played and clowns entertained. Prizes included turkeys and chickens drawn for by Lion Bull Long, with winners listed. a Red Cross draw and a donated quilt and doll outfit drew cheers from attendees.

Captain William Rogers Dies in Montreal
Local residents mourn the death of Captain William Rogers at Lachine General Hospital Montreal on Saturday after a lengthy illness. Born in Ireland, he came to Canada at age ten and served in the Bell Rebellion with the 16th Royal Grenadiers and in the last World War with the 7th Battalion where his brother-in-law Col. James Ballantine was an officer. He leaves only four survivors from his unit.
