De Vries Wins Husking Corn at Esquesing Show
The Esquesing Agricultural Society third field crop contest crowned L. De Vries with 95.75 bushels per acre after 15 percent moisture addition. Fifteen of twenty entrants completed the event with prizes distributed among top finishers including Ruddell Bros and Donald McNabb.

Georgetown Intermediates travelled to Grimsby Inst Friday for a pre season game against the Peach Kings. Georgetown defeated Grimsby 63 to 41 before a fair crowd. Rhodes the new goalie showed promise and Shropshire sat with an injured knee as Bungy Ward watched from the sideline.

Lion James Ballantine will oversee a Christmas tree erection at Main and Mill Street. Santa Claus is to arrive Saturday afternoon to distribute candy and goodies to local children. The club will sponsor the Ontario Panorama radio broadcast from Old Riley Brethour’s welcome into the club.

Georgetown Officials Oppose District High School Found Elsewhere
At a joint Georgetown Municipal Council and High School Board meeting in the Municipal Building the two bodies declared unalterably opposed to establishing a District High School outside Georgetown unless located in the town itself. Mayor Cleave chaired as Dr. Gibbons and Goodlet moved the resolution backing Georgetown as the central urban area for northern Halton County.
