Santa in Copter Videoland Stars in Lions Parade
The Santa in a hall copter leads the annual Lions Parade through Videoland to George town routes. The route includes Cal-4 res tara te downtown corners with elves and floats from Ben Cassy and the Untouchables to Hockey Night in Canada and the Beverley Hillbillies. Local bands and Winterettas, with a special candy distribution at 1 to 1:30 pm, join the procession and greet children at the Plaza before heading to the downtown business district.

Three Minor Fires No Serious Damage
Three small fires caused brief alarms with no injuries or major damage. A chimney fire at 39 Market St threatened flames until firefighters dropped a chain and knocked down the spot. A ductwork fire at Standard Products on Guelph St was contained as sparks and a vent pipe flare ignited fabric. A high tension wire arcing near No 22 Sideroad prompted standby tactics and power disruption in the south town area.
