Georgetown Lions Club hosted a Park sing along featuring the Georgetown Girls Pipe Band and soloists Dolores Herrington Piper Eleanor Smith Ken Harrison and Grace Beerman with Alf Sutton on piano. Clarence Benham and Gordon Vivian directed and emceed the event which raised 41.73 for charity, the largest tally this year.

Reid's Hardware Passes to New Owner in Georgetown
James Goodlet purchased the Reid hardware business from J P Reid and will operate as Goodlet's Hardware after a clearance sale. The store, once famed as Reid's with roots tracing to Glasgow, will remodel and reopen with hardware and electrical supplies. Mr and Mrs Ray Whitmee and their five year old daughter Susan have returned to Crage town from England where they lived since 1930. The family first stayed in Stafford and Croydon amid air raid experiences. They arrived aboard the small cargo vessel Acguani after a ten day sea voyage and plan to settle permanently in Canada.
