Barn Fire Destroys Archie McMeekin's Barn Near Norval
A large barn owned by Archie McMeekin on 5th Line West Chinguacousy was burned to the ground late Monday during threshing, with hay and grain losses and a calf possibly perishing. Brampton firemen aided to prevent spread to nearby outbuildings and the brick dwelling, aided by wind that blew embers away. Loss is heavy but partly insured. In Georgetown, a Young Conservative Club formation night at the Nodwell home drew local figures including W. Nodwell, Chris Johnson, George Preston, and George Thorpe, with plans for a future nomination meeting and officer elections.
