Col Brown is critically injured after a Thursday morning crash in Mount Albert Newmarket. A Chrysler Imperial driven by Hilds Shannon of Scarborough struck Brown’s Rambler, sending him through the passenger door into a ditch. Brown's condition is serious but improving after an extensive Saturday operation. recovery expected with no complications.
Fred Whittaker assumes duties as the new hospital administrator in Cheacon town. He comes after extensive training in Derbyshire and at Derby, Leeds, and London colleges, with prior posts at Robert Jones and Ayres Orthopedic Hospital and St George's Hospital Hyde Park Corner. He holds multiple hospital admin diplomas and fellowships in England and Canada.
Georgetown Ratepayers Association, formed in May, aims to unite the town and improve administration. President EK Ry Francis says the group seeks to remove barriers and foster townwide harmony with social activities planned.
