About 125 Gas tle descendants gathered July 15 at Ashgrove for the 16th reunion hosted by Mr and Mrs Clayton Wilson with welcomes from Mrs A S Wilson and Mr George Gastle. Midland Man Killed In Car Truck Crash At Sideroad Intersection
Francis Beer of Midland died from injuries after a car driven by Myner collided with a truck driven by Elwood Carney of Norval on No. 5 sideroad at the Sth Line intersection about 4 20 Wednesday morning. He had been visiting his brother Dr Paul Beer and had lived in Acton before moving to Midland. Survived by wife, one son and one daughter. Funeral held at McClure Funeral Home Georgetown with burial in Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.

Mrs. Thomas Graham died July 24 at her daughter’s home in Caledon after a winter illness in a Toronto hospital. Aged 72, she was formerly Janet Akitt and died of a heart attack. Ernest Alexander, long-time North Ernest resident and Ontario farmer, died suddenly on Thursday July 27 after a heart attack. Rev A Cowan led the funeral with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery Norval. pallbearers included Neilson Stark and Frank Ruddell among others. Born in London England, he crossed to Canada at eight, homesteaded near New Liskeard, later moved to Norval district and farmed on the 10th Line. Survived by daughter Janet Barnes, son and thirteen grandchildren. predeceased by wife Mary Wingfield. He was 82.
