A serious fire Tuesday destroyed Mr. Howard Stull’s barn on the 8th Line north of Georgetown and its contents. The loss hits threshing season hard in the district and will heavily affect Stull’s operations this year.
Angus McNabb of Georgetown is president of the newly formed Boys Foal Club organized by the Acton Agricultural Society. Seventeen members aged fourteen to twenty will exhibit foals at the Acton Fair on September 20. Officers include McNabb as president, Brock Harris as vice president, Kenneth Ella as secretary, with Charles McKewon and J. E. Perin as club leaders. A club day will coincide with the Acton Fair, and a special foal class will be offered at Milton on September 30 through Halton Agricultural Society.
Georgetown friends report Rev. Griffin Thompson pastor of Holy Trinity Church Hamilton severely injured in a collision with a large truck last weekend. His wife escaped with slight hurts and shock. Mrs Thompson was driving. the truck driver was uninjured. Both are recovering steadily.
Ontario Attorney General Gordon D. Conant spoke in Oshawa arguing that liberty of press and speech is essential to protect liberty. He urged careful administration of justice and warned against printing or saying things that threaten government or public order.

Caroline B Edwards died Friday July 21 1938 at Mrs Buck's nursing home Streetsville where she had resided for several years. The funeral was held Monday from Hornby with pallbearers described as lifelong friends and the Rev Mr Brooks of Norval officiating. She leaves a brother Dr R Edwards of Brampton.
A boy tumbled from a car traveling about 30 miles per hour after choosing a soft spot. Authorities report Ken neth and Mr Sobenk sped him to a doctor, where his father and mother were present. The incident occurred during a Sunday near a drive. The boy received medical attention.
