The Board of Transport Commissioners heard the John Street subway case in which the town claims Canadian National Railways widened the subway. The decision was reserved with a permissive basis allowing the town to do nothing now. Evidence included John Malcolm, Mayor Joseph Gibbons, and railway witnesses. the railway argued the railway existed before the road.

Mrs Lewis Teeter Dies of Heart Attack at Home
Mrs. Lewis Teeter formerly Margaret McDonald died suddenly at her Emery Street home on Saturday April 16 after a heart attack. She was 73, born near Cheltenham and survived by six children and five grandchildren. Funeral held Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home with Rev. John M. Smith. interment at McDonald's Cemetery.
