Georgetown serviceman may win new home in Victory Loan draw
A group of Hamilton firms launches a draw linked to the 8th Victory Loan Drive. A service member from Hamilton Wentworth or Halton County may receive a new brick home. Nominations may be made by May 12 at Georgetown loan headquarters. The winning card will be drawn by a Hamilton committee before June 2. Harvey Davidson, 18, a Georgetown youth who died overseas, is noted among local casualties. District youths excel at the Peel County Music Festival in Port Credit with Thelma Hunter and Georgetown performers earning medals and honors.

Death of Rev George H Williams veteran clergyman and war worker
The Rev George H Williams D D died April 12 at his Hamilton home aged 79 after 51 years in the ministry in Canada since 1891. He served in World War I as chaplain and later directed the Red Cross Soldiers Welfare Committee and Victory bond campaigns. Survived by his widow six sons including Dr Claude Williams Major Harold Williams and Dr Percy Williams and daughter Mrs Harris Redmond.

He first was in a British hospital and later moved to a Canadian hospital, with Red Cross providing substantial aid.
