Fire and Street-Washing Brighten Main Street
Fire brigade responded to a grass fire near the Smith and Stone factory at 2 p m and extinguished it quickly. On Thursday night local workers washed Main Street with two teams splitting duties east and west and converging at the hotel corner. Friday morning the street showed cleaner in expected repainting with old parking markings set to be replaced.
