The note claims loose fowl annoy neighbors and praises merchant efficiency from cash and carry practices easing delivery costs and bookkeeping. Sapper Thos Forgraves wounded and died at No 42 Casualty Clearing Station. Lt D Hender son of the Canadian Engineers acknowledges socks sent from Acton. Driver Frank Day in France sends weather news and fine health. Driver Stanley Pearson wounded in France, will be sent to England. Harold Morris joins the Aviation Corps. Garf ield Ramshaw wounded at Vimy Ridge in 1917, returns to Oshawa for further treatment. New military appointment places Lt J Daveyte as acting commander at Brant House hospital for invalided soldiers. Struck off: Lt Percy Domville. Pvt John Sahil acting fireman on the New York Central Railway after returning home. John Alexander Gordon killed in action April 4.
