Georgetown council weighs traffic light plan for downtown
The Georgetown council discusses traffic light rationing for downtown at the Four Corners Main Street and the John Street highway. Northern Electric proposed semi actuated and regular 24 hour light changes with estimated costs totaling around 5000 dollars plus 200 for pedestrian buttons. The plan includes highway green timing, possible water and sewer service extensions, and a planning committee review after hydro commission decision.

Highways Minister Reports on Dunnville Hospital Effort

IGA Loses Appeal Over Georgetown Store Closing By-Law
Judge G W Morley dismissed the appeal of Bob Caldwell and Bruce Williamson over the Georgetown by law closing order. Fines of 25 dollars each for contravening the by law remain in force. Costs of 35 dollars payable to the town were awarded to the appellants. The original conviction occurred in Newmarket in February for keeping the store open in violation of the by law.
