Legionnaires vote to adopt Maple Leaf flag for Legion
At Brampton District B convention 200 delegates supported a resolution from Nisgars-on-the-Lake’s General Nelles Branch 124 to make the Maple Leaf flag the official Royal Canadian Legion flag and fly it with dignity. The move, needing provincial and national approval, comes after the previous Red Ensign adoption. Delegates also backed medical care for War Veterans Allowance widows and spouses and local access to DVA medical services, with Georgetown Branch 120 receiving six delegates.
