The position created for a sixth school in Mountain View Sargent Rd area will be headed by William French at Park Public School. Mrs Sandra Morrow joins staff in September. several resignations were accepted with regret including teachers at Harrison Public School and others moving to Fort McPherson and North York.

Lockwood Appointed Manager at Provincial Paper Mill

About twenty six members of Local 876 United Auto Workers walked out at 7 a m Tuesday at the Bliss Division of E W Bliss Co of Canada Ltd located in the highway plant once Sykes Tool Co. property adjoining Standard Products. Strike captain Mrs Inez Bernache said the action also seeks reinstatement of two female workers fired two weeks ago. The rest of Local 876 members at Standard Products remained at work.

Plane crash kills Waldo Diggins and wife in Ontario
Mr and Mrs Waldo Diggins both aged 27 died when their four seat Cessna rented from Canadian Flyers crashed into a corn field 22 miles northeast of Chatham after taking off from Malton. Co pilot Colin Tait also perished. Wreckage found near an emergency strip after searches by RCAF, Michigan Civil Air Patrol, and U S Coast Guard. Diggins, a Georgetown native toolmaker, leaves two children. Mrs Diggins formerly Pearl Brook Leece had worked at Loblaw stores. A funeral service was held in Brampton with Rev John McDermid presiding.

Four Car Crash Kills Two Georgetown Teens
A four vehicle collision on No. 7 Highway near New Hamburg Friday night killed Janet Moore and Marjorie Pew, while Marion Burt is critically injured and Elizabeth York sustained a fair condition. Moore died at St. Marys Hospital, Pew died Wednesday morning, as residents mourn their loss and the community recalls their hockey fandom with the Georgetown Raiders.
