The Victory Club held a second Arena dance last Friday organized by Smith & Stone girls led by Dolete McEmery and Gladys Helgason. Doris Hulls Orchestra played modern and old time tunes. a refreshment booth drew guests. Door prizes went to Mrs. Clarence Spence and John McClure, and an elimination dance prize to Mrs. A Collins and Leading Stoker James Alderson. Net proceeds of 35 dollars were donated to the Herald Soldiers' Comforts Fund.

Frederick William Search 73 a Georgetown native fatally injured by a Montreal streetcar on Saturday. He trained at Aldous and Company in Georgetown, later moving to Winchester Durham and finally Montreal where he led Eaton Co warehouse furniture. Survived by widow two sons four daughters including Ray Search Mrs J Patterson Mrs F LeBouuilier of Toronto Mr Ridout of Weston and Mrs M King Montreal. Buried in Durham Tuesday.
