Georgetown Midgels win province title in Midget playoffs
Georgetown Midgels defeated Cobourg 4 to 2 to capture the Ontario Midget title for the second straight year. Allan Arnold scored the winner as Georgetown rallied from a defeat in game one and won three straight in the best of five final. Cobourg scored late in the second period and again late in the final, but Arnold and teammates secured the championship with a late goal and solid defense. Georgetown is coached by Gerry Inglis with Bud James and Bill James as managers.
