A March lucky draw at Richmond Woollen Mills raised 4650 for the St John Ambulance Association. Ticket 335, held by J Wilton, won a motor rug. five hundred tickets were printed and sold out. The event, held at Leyton bingo, celebrated the mill’s blanket donation and received special thanks from the local John Ambulance Brigade.

Easter Meeting of Rowdud Mission Band in Sunday School Room
The Rowdud Mission Band of the United Church held an Easter Thank-offering service in the Sunday School room. June Cofell presided as the call to worship opened the program with scripture from Matthew and a hymn. On Friday afternoon March 1 the Junior Red Cross of the Public School held a meeting in the Assembly Hall Violet Barnes chaired. Betty Hunter reported receipts of 150 dollars, expenditures of 3400 leaving a 3750 balance. pupils had collected about 1 ton of paper and 800 pounds of scrap metal toward a third salvaged load aiming for Easter. The program featured student performances and a talk on money by O W McLintock. Doreen Mulholand presented an Afghan to Mrs Coffin on behalf of the Senior Red Cross.
