Thaddens Butler of Chicago, jbishop-elect of Concordia, Kan., who Idied at Rome on Thursday, were held [in St. John’s Catholic church today. Archbishop Ireland preached the sermon. Bishop Butler presided over St. John’s for 39 years and more than 3,000 persons crowded the edifice to pay respect to his memory. He served during the civil war as chaplain of the Irish I brigade and the army was represented * at the servioe by General Brooke and staff of the United States array Mayor Harrison and/other prominent officials iS£K’«pesent.-'
