Water trust debate over reduced rate and meter policy
The Numurkah Water Trust full meeting discussed a request from M. Seymour to reduce a special rate on his property due to periods of scarce water, with the rate to be kept at the minimum. The rate collector noted a low overall collection, and engineers proposed opening a rope and creek flow to pass winter water. A proposed list of 49 properties for water meters was amended, with further lists to follow. The rural show grounds loan remission request from Numurkah Agricultural Society was defeated, and a stance was taken against creating precedents for rural ratepayers paying for urban extensions.

Progressive wheat farming by H F Sudholz at Natimue system
Victorian wheat growers show high water mark in progressive methods. H F Sudholz of Natimue, Mitre, spends heavily on manure and deep soil preparation. Compared with Goulburn Valley farmers who rely on 56 pounds of superphosphate, Natimue Cobram and TMih districts show richer soil and more intensive cultivation though drought and fallow practices influence results.
