Matthews at a Nu’murkah Farewell and Welcome Committee concert. Strathmerton residents bid farewell to Mrs and Miss Curtin as they leave. The Parting gift was a well-filled purse. Anzac Commemoration in Numurkah Draws Large Attendance
The Numurkah Town Hall overflowed for the Anzac Day service conducted by the RSL. A march from the Soldiers' Memorial Hall preceded wreath laying at Memorial Gardens by RSL, Auxiliary, Fathers' Association, CWA, Younger Set, Scouts and others. Lt. Col. EB Dunlop spoke on sacrifice and Anzac spirit amid war memories as the band and choir performed. A collection benefited the Distressed Soldiers' Relief Fund.
