Fence Knifed by Slash Cuts Hose in Numurkah Action
During a shift a group of men moved a hose over a fence top rather than beneath it. Alex ordered water on as the hose rested and the pressure failed to push past the fence kink. An axe was produced by W J Fitzwater and Lew Martin, who cut the fence and hose in one stroke.

Labor Candidate Lacked A Chairman At Numurkah Meeting
The Labor candidate for Murray Valley, Neil Stewart, failed to secure a chairman for his Numurkah meeting on October 30.
