At a meeting of the Nialang branch of the South Australian Agricultural Bureau Mr E Krusa argued for a fixed wheat standard. He noted current penalties for under standard grain without bonuses for over standard. He proposed a 623 ks per bushel standard with dockage for inferior grain and premiums for superior grain, and that samples come only from bureau secretaries and that the government set the standard.
