Northam Municipal Council Adopts Readying Balance Sheets
The adjourned annual and half yearly meetings of Northam ratepayers were held in the Town Hall on May 30 with many attendees. The Mayor noted delays due to the illness of the Town Clerk and said irregularities were discovered but some were resolved. The balance sheet and overdraft were discussed, with calls for circulation prior to meetings. The half yearly report also drew questions. meters and lighting costs were debated, with a motion to reduce meter rents to encourage domestic electric power. The meeting closed after thanks to the Mayor and Councillors.

Obituary of Mr Thomas Reynolds Pioneer Farmer
The Eastern Districts Chronicle reports the death of Mr Thomas Reynolds at 75, a noted Mt Pleasant Meckering farmer born at sea in 1843.
