Railway Extensions Deputation Presses Premier for New Line
A Friday deputation from the Eastern districts urged the Premier to approve a survey and construction of a new railway line between existing lines. They argued the route would boost grain yields, reduce cartage, enable wheat crops, improve stock movement, and create settlement. The Premier welcomed the support, noted fundraising and rail procurement limits, and promised consideration of the proposal with a board’s report.
