A speech argues Parliament undertook control of Church property and discipline, likening the Church Discipline Act to the Magna Charta. It questions treatment of Church clerks versus lay corporations and advocates complete emancipation from political interference to allow citizens to manage religion by conscience. The lecture tour continued in Liverpool with a similar presentation and supportive reception.
