Disestablishment Debate Gains Church Support Across England

Disestablishment of the English Church Lecture Debate

A lecture on disestablishment was delivered by Rev. G W Yon der in the Upper Schoolroom near College Street Chapel with large attendance. Mayor P P Perry presided, urging Protestant freedom from State Church control and urging unity among Nonconformists while supporting reform. The Rev. W Conder spoke followed by praise for Liberty movements, with calls to disestablish the English Church and align Parliament to extend Irish Church reform to England.
