Parliament to Elect Speaker as new government forms
The new Parliament will meet tomorrow to elect a Speaker with Mr Brand likely to be unanimously chosen. He will then present himself to the House of Lords for the gracious approval. Swearing in of members will proceed in batches, with writs moved for vacancies by Tuesday and Parliament adjourning for re-elections. The Queen's Speech in two weeks will outline Disraeli's program, including potential income tax decisions before Easter.
