Mr Wicker demanded the sum be disallowed and the family vault retained for parish use, with a committee appointed to recover the vault. Other items included a beadle’s coat and fine garments.

A letter rebuts claims from an anti state church meeting in Birmingham about a supposed clause in the Church of Scotland confession granting civil magistrate control. The writer questions the speaker’s sources, stating no such committee or clause revision is found in May assembly reports and argues the Free Church upholds the clause. He urges public correction.
