Liberation Society lecture in Bradford meets opposition

The Rev James Mursell of Hallfield Baptist Chapel spoke at the Bradford Mechanics Institute replying to Mr Dibbs on fallacies of the Liberation Society. Edward Priestman presided with J P Chown Briggs Priestley Joseph Boothroyd Elias Thomas on the platform as the audience listened, then a vote of thanks was given. A subsequent meeting at Allerton in the British Schoolroom, chaired by C Robert Shaw, passed resolutions praising Irish Church disestablishment and urging support for Mr Miall MP in English Church disestablishment. Present included Rev J Ellis and Rev G Robinson.
