Memorial Hall staircases described by architects
In reply to Outsider’s letter we detail four staircases in Memorial Hall. The principal broad south side near Farringdon street, a north side staircase to Fleet lane, and two smaller stairs opposite them, with direct access to the Library and connections to Farringdon street and Fleet lane. Architects John Tarring & Son submit this clarification.

Sentiment versus strength in church hymn controversy
J Johnston argues against sensationalism in churches praising Moody and Sankey. He criticizes trendiness, defends sincere preaching, and cites Edinburgh Glasgow Dublin as signs of genuine revival, urging strong Scriptural instruction and patience as the movement spreads in 1875.
Questioning Moody Style and The Work of God
The letter-writers argue that critics of religious revival should consider whether the movement might be divinely inspired. They challenge ministers who oppose the work to reflect if their opposition fights against God and the transformation claimed by supporters. The tone defends broader support for revival among influential readers.
