Appeals for Protestant Dissenters Ministers to Preach on Bartholomew Day

A 1845 appeal from the Deputies of Protestant Dissenters within twelve miles of London urges ministers to preach near Saint Bartholomew’s Day August 24 and to collect funds to support civil rights efforts. The letter cites past grants, warns of threats to religious liberty, and lists contributions and actions since 1826.

Suspension of the Toleration Act case of Mr Shore

In the Arches court Sir Herbert Jenner Fust ruled that Rev James Shore cannot shed clerical status after taking holy orders, rejecting a plea that ordination removed church jurisdiction. The decision allows nonconformity to be punished by the spiritual court for preaching in an unconsecrated chapel.
