Murderous dynamite plot shocks Nanaimo Extension
In Extension last night an attempt to blow up a house with dynamite ended when the culprit was disturbed. The explosives were hurled into the road and exploded. Later in Extension two foreigners named Pier and Leiter fought over money. Leiter violently assaulted Pier and left him gravely injured. In Union a Chinaman was crushed to death when run over by rock-filled cars.

Winnipeg reports a devastating fire destroyed the Mariapolis railway station on the Morris Brandon line of the Canadian Northern between Greenway and Swan Lake.
