Williams plans final Chapleau mine payment and expansion
J Mallingan Williams returned from Slocan City with a branch office led by G H Browning. A final installment of 10500 for the Chapleau mines is due at the Bank of Montreal in Nelson and will be paid to Dik, Gwilliams, Tattersall and Robertson, lifting the bill of sale. Construction for the Chapleau tramway and a new dam progresses with engineers revising the branch road route to avoid crossing the creek.

Magistrate dismisses assault case as complainant fails to prosecute
In police court Magistrate Crease dismissed Alex Goocero w for assaulting Thomas Forton at the Kootenay Hotel after Forton did not appear to prosecute. The case was dropped and costs ordered against the complainant John W. Petch. A separate man was committed for trial on theft of a pocketbook containing about 30 dollars after evidence was heard.
