Beer leads as range officer. two teams list captains and members. civilians receive rifles at 9:30 a.m. and 24 rounds per contestant will be issued.

At midnight the Steamer Trail burning at the Robson wharf between Robson and Arrowhead was soon a mass of flames. The Rossland aided, but the fire reached the water's edge with no casualties known and damage value undetermined.

Nelson Boat Club elects officers and plans races
The Nelson Boat Club held its annual meeting at the Bank of Montreal with I B Perks in the chair. Officers named include A H Buchanan as President and Chas Matthews as Boat Captain. The club voted to abolish the entrance fee and to sponsor four oared races for Dominion Day Carnival, with crews able to train using club boats free of charge. A new roof and showers will be installed and boats overhauled ahead of events.

Kaslo June 1 Kootenay Lake claims five miners in recent days with W Freeman W Kenyon Adam Badd Harry Sutherland missing after boats vanished Lemon found his boat drifting near Fry Creek while Baird and Sutherland disappeared weeks ago near Lardo Duncan. Officials fear drownings though some hope for survivors. Previously only two bodies recovered from the lake last fall.
