In New York on February 14 Judge Lacombe issued an order in the suit of Eugene Fish of Paris against Anna Gould Countess Castellane and George J Howard Edwin and Helen Gould as executors and trustees of the late Jay Gould. The order requires the trustees to pay creditors from income of the Countess de Castellane. Creditors include Charles Manheim Co Paris 27451 Vincent and Co Paris 2156 Redmond and Co Paris 5437 and the French tax office 16440 for duties on a French judgment.

Crane vanishes under wrecked engine after rail collision
Rochester report says a Buffalo local passenger train struck a heavy steam crane on the main line. Kilpatrick Kills Housekeeper in Chester After Promise to Marry
Robert Kilpatrick, a 54 year old widower, shot and killed Eliza Raymore in Chester after a liquor fueled quarrel over a promised marriage. He fired at Raymore at Mrs Craft's home and later at Raymore again, the fatal bullet hitting her heart. Kilpatrick was arrested and said she refused to marry him.

Iron Mines Cost Less to Work at Boundary
W M Brewer of the New York Engineering and Mining Journal arrived from the Boundary and claimed ore can be mined and treated for about $3 a ton. He argued this is the world’s lowest cost aside from Alabama iron mines using colored labor, noting vast ore bodies, minimal timber needs, and ore as a strong flux. Brewer predicted copper could fall to ten or nine cents, gold copper mines would be the mainstay, free milling mines fewer in number, and silver lead mines promising for the poor man. He criticized provincial taxes and proposed taxing vacant claims on surface value, urging Canada to secure home markets and gather intelligence on potential buyers in Hawaii, China, and Japan. Boulder crash kills seven on work train caboose
A massive boulder rolled from rain-scarred Bluff and hit a work train on the Chocktaw Oklahoma and Gulf line twenty miles west of Little Rock.
