The Aberden Post carries a long note on Count Thun Hohenstein's Reichstag reply about expelling Austrians from Prussia. It says Berlin assurances must be honored and asserts Austria’s leader is a steadfast ally of the monarchy ties with Germany, warning of energetic protection of Austrian rights if not.
Sir James Winter, Newfoundland premier, returned from Washington after attending the International Commission session. No prospect of a full settlement on fisheries and reciprocity. a treaty covering minor subjects may be signed by late January and sent to Parliament. If major issues remain unsettled, Newfoundland’s legislature will not be asked to pass the treaty.
The Brackman & Ker Milliont Company plans Nelson as its Kootenay trade hub.
