Granby Mines to Increase Output in January
The Granby mines will permanently raise ore output early in January as a new furnace nears operation. Supt. W. Yolen Williams reports shipments exceed 700 tons daily, with plans to lift to above 1,000 tons as the extra furnace runs. Storage of 10,000 tons will grow, and more workers may be hired. A large blast near Knob Hill broke down 3,000–4,000 tons of ore, described as cheaper mining in British Columbia. At month end, Baptist Sunday School held a successful Christmas program with cantata, prizes, and a Santa distribution. Lipton's Tea ad completes the page.
