Tribute to Grand Ole Opry fundraiser shines in Plains
On October 28 local musicians performed songs of Grand Ole Opry stars in a show titled A tribute to the Grand Ole Opry. Organized by Ron Nordstrom and Val Jarema to raise funds for the Beautiful Plains Archives the event drew an audience of over 250 at the Roxy. A house band backed local performers including John Cullen Richard Desjardin Herb Benson Jessica Lukin and more. Nearly $5 000 was raised before expenses and the lighting and sound drew praise for the memorable show.
