Murray Black’s Hong Kong POW site pilgrimage
Neepawa resident Murray Black and son Tom traveled to Hong Kong for a four day visit to Sham Shui Po and North Point, sites tied to their father and grandfather Mike Black who enlisted at 17 and later became a prisoner of war. The trip traces his training in Brandon Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg before boarding the New Zealand ship Hiawatha in 1941 bound for Hong Kong. Continued on Page 15.
